This month, two very talented designers joined my yearly project: Emma Hawman and Erin Ibbertson. I love both their styles: Emma's being very romantic and delicate and Erin's very illustrative and cute.

About her cheerful design Erin says: "Let two cheery dachshunds lead you away from the chill of winter, heading towards the lovely blossoming of spring."

My two planners are pretty simple, but I find them playful and perfect for the month of LOVE ;) What do you think?

bloghop // tropical fusion :: caribbean sea

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the very first bloghop of the year. Just like last year we celebrated Pantone's 2013's color with the Let's Fly! bloghop we wanted to do the same this year to honor 2014's: Radiant Orchid.

a special thanks to Lisa Rivas for the fab logo :)

If you are following the hop in order, it is most probably that you are coming from Rosie Simon's blog and have just admired her gorgeous, bright and fun work. Please now take a couple of minutes to take a look at the designs I've created:

One of the first things that first came to my mind when I read the theme for the hop was fish. Tropical fish are so fun and bright! I knew I wanted them to be the main subject of my designs. I hadn't designed for a while so it was nice to take some time to draw and slowly make one more tiny step towards coming back to my old self by creating something inspired directly by the beautiful and colorful fauna you find under Colombia's oceans.

Thank you so much for stopping by. The bloghop isn't over yet so make sure you visit Leska Hamaty's blog to discover what she's all about! If you have only just found our bloghop and want to start from the beginning, then hop over to Groovity's blog where all the the fun kicked off :)

news // I'm an official anonymous doodler :)

Today I started exercising again after a loooooong holiday break (oops!), and when I got back home from the gym I was surprised by a white Fedex envelope (I love getting unexpected mail). Wanna guess what was in it?

My very own copy of Doodlers Anonymous Coloring Book volume 3... yaaaay!

And did you know I'm one of the 60 artists that were chosen to be featured?

Life is still hard, but I've decided to move one and make my Dad the proudest of dads from wherever he's watching me now. I know that's what he would've wanted me to do so now it is up to me to honor his memory and work hard to become the person he so long dreamt.

Today was a nice day; having the book in my hands and seeing my work among other great designers and artists really boost my mood. I need to start appreciating the little things again. I've been secluded in the darkness for so long and it is time for me to get some sunshine! It is hard given what's happened, but I'm sure there are positive things happening around me. I've decided to join the #100happydays challenge to be sure I'll keep my eyes wide open so that I don't miss those happy little (or big) moments. You can follow my journey on Instagram and if you decide to join too, let me know on a comment below where I can follow yours ;)

freebies // The 2014 Designer Calendar + Planners :: January

hello and Happy New Year!!!

What better way to start the year (and my comeback to real life) than with some happy freebies? This year's Designer Calendar will not only include downloadable digital calendars to be used on all of your tech devices, but also printable planners for you to keep your things-to-do organized.

meet my Whistling Monkeys!

Last year I asked 11 designers to collaborate with my project, but this time I'm happy to announce that I'll be working with 44 amazing fellow designers who will each create amazing designs especially for you.

January's designs are all mine... it's been almost 3 months since I sat down to create. I haven't had the energy nor the time nor the peace of mind, but doing these was fun and reminded me this is what will make my Dad happy wherever he is.

freebies // The 2013 Designer Calendar :: December

A year ago I was brainstorming my 2013 Designer Calendar project, and now it is coming to its end (don't worry... I'm already brainstorming next year's :D ). The last designer of this year's wonderful freebies is Esther Cox. She's English and she works from her own magical kiosk. Her work is playful and colourful... just the best way to keep track of all of the events of the joyful season.

About Esther:
"I am an illustrator and pattern maker. Mostly, I just love to draw, and I'm ecstatic when someone wants to pay me for doing that. If I ever manage to make a proper living from it I will probably expire from sheer joy."

Her quirky detail:
"I dare say there are too many to mention. My job is to roam in a daydream. To exploit my imagination. It all seems normal to me."

Her favourite Designer:
"I'm a bit of a magpie so choosing a favourite is tricky. I'm inspired by so much art, photography and graphics. More so than surface pattern design. I would say Robert Stewart and Stig Lindberg. They demonstrated their talents in so many fields. I find their inquisitive, thoughtful approach and the playful lines of their work just beautiful. I aspire to that."

You can download December here or clicking on the download link below the image above, and remember, it can be printed as big as an A3 format (42x29.7cm / 16.5x11.7in). Don't forget to visit Esther's website to keep up to date with her great work
